I have a terrible habit of biting my lips. And the more I bite them, the drier they get. It’s been a vicious circle since I was a teenager. Therefore, lip balms have become an essential part of my life. And my beauty addiction doesn’t help here either. As soon as a new lip balm comes out – I buy it. Of course, I justify my impulse purchases by thinking I’ll use it all up anyway. And that’s how you end up with 30 expensive lip balms lying around and then find yourself reaching for Vaseline.
So if you’re looking for a good lip balm, here is the list of the best lip balms I’ve tried and actually use:
This is THE lip balm! I know it’s pricey…But once you try it, you’ll understand why you’re paying £48 for it. It really is a miracle in a jar and it lasts for ages. Even the driest lips look and feel smoother, softer and plumper in seconds. It’s the perfect primer for lipstick as well. I personally struggle to apply lipstick because my lips are just that dry – but it’s not a problem when I apply La Mer Lip Balm. I can’t praise this product enough, it’s really made a difference in my life.
If La Mer Lip Balm is Ferrari then Vaseline is good, old, tested Volvo. Even Beyonce swears by it! I always have a few in my arsenal. I use it more during the Winter months as it creates the perfect shield against harsh environments and helps your lips to retain moisture. Boots has it in all shapes and colours which makes it a little more fun. However, Original remains my favorite as it’s more versatile. Every girl should have one of these in her bag. There’s no excuse not to!
This is another ‘multi-tasking’ gem. Dr.Lipp will re-balance, hydrate, nourish, soothe, and even help heal all types of dry, sore, cracked, itchy or sensitive skin anywhere. Its texture and smell is very similar to Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream but in a bite size format that seems to last an eternity and is cheaper too. I feel like this lip balm is more therapeutic at relieving dryness and cracked lips than other lip balms (perhaps I’m influenced by it’s slightly medical smell). A bonus is that it’s free from additives, preservatives and fragrance and made from 100% pure medical-grade filtered Lanolin. When you apply it, use a tiny amount and make sure you rub it in very well.
This lipstick is more of a lip balm as it feels particularly hydrating and nourishing on your lips. It slightly plumps and enhances lips, I think this is due to its rich texture and colour. It’s perfect shade of rose suits any skin type and occasion, and looks very natural. In addition, I think SPF is a must on your lips, especially when cracked, as they are more prone to environmental damage. Apparently, this No Lipstick Lipstick also harnesses the scientific benefits of NEUROPEPTIDES, which help regenerate and restore skin on the lips. I’m actually very impressed with the whole range of Perricone’s ‘No Make Up Skincare’. I particularly love No Concealer Concealer and this No Lipstick Lipstick.
What’s your favourite lip balm?
My sister faced some problem with her lips. I think this article helps her properly. Thanks
