SUPER SUPPLEMENTS - Tackling Maturing Skin From Within
SUPER SUPPLEMENTS – Tackling Maturing Skin From Within

It’s no longer a secret that when it comes to anti-ageing, the best way to tackle maturing skin is from within. Water, Nutrition and Supplements are the main ingredients. It’s all very simple. Our skin is 72% water, however our body retains fewer water molecules with age. Hence skin feels dryer and we get more wrinkles. Drinking lots of water is not enough. So as we age, most of us resort to moisturising creams, which could actually perpetuate the problem if overused or misused.

The best way to hydrate your skin is by taking supplements, having correct nutrition containing good quality fatty acids and using products and treatments that would encourage skin cells to renew themselves and produce more moisture.

Fatty acids such as Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) have the ability to improve your skin condition beyond what we can eat or apply. Since our bodies are not capable of producing them on their own, we can boost these essential fatty acids through supplementation.

New Generation of Supplements

We’ve all heard of skin supplements before but we’ve never taken them seriously until recently. I personally was never a fan of traditional supplements. Over the years I’ve tried quite a few. But after each attempt I ended up with nausea or felt hungry. However, lately I’ve noticed a whole new scientifically improved range of supplements emerging on shelves alongside skincare products. These new ‘ingestible’ beauty formulas come in all shapes and forms, which our bodies tend to absorb more effectively.

Being in my thirties and with collagen and moisture levels in freefall, it made sense for me to embrace these new generation of super supps. Therefore, I started with the basics by adding Omega Supplements to my topical skin range.  I went for Omega Brilliance supplement. It is a highly concentrated, high quality all-natural omega-3 complex supplement with EPA/DHA and Retinol. Retinol is a sought after ingredient which supports your skin in the fight against aging and clearing acne.

Does it work?

After taking this supplement for a month, I noticed a significant improvement in my skin health; my nails became strong and less brittle; and my hair looked shinier, more lustrous and grew faster than ever. Most importantly, the supplement felt right for my digestive system and instead of leaving me feeling hungry or nauseous like other supplements I’d tried before, it actually regulated my blood sugar levels, got rid of my cravings and gave me more energy.

My Beauty Insider Says

After trying Omega Brilliance and seeing visible results, I am positively ‘IN’ with Super Supps. I can’t wait to make some space in my bathroom cabinet for some new hydrating, elastin and collagen preserving formulas. So stay tuned for more reviews on new generation skin supplements. And of course I greatly appreciate my readers input. Please let me know what supplements you have tried and how they made you feel.

MBinsider, where can I buy the Omega Brilliance? By the way I tried Pure Skin Clarifying Dietary Supplement by Murad and it worked wonders – pimples disappeared within a few weeks!

    • Hi there, thank you for your comment. I’m so glad to hear that Murad worked for you! Murad is a wonderful brand and great for oily and acne prone skin. I buy my Omega Brilliance from Space NK, the link is in the text. I would love to hear your feedback, if you decide to try it out.

I have researched EFAs extensively while studying for my Nutrition certification so yes would totally agree that supplementing with essential omegas is a great beauty hack: they optimize cell membranes’ health by keeping them flexible and permeable – a must for optimal cells metabolism! – The glowing skin will follow 😉 . I would, however, like to highlight the issue of malabsorption of Fish Oil supplements for anyone with impaired liver and gallbladder functions (inefficient bile flow = problems digesting and absorbing dietary fats)…For these individuals I’d highly recommend the BioTRUST OmegaKrill 5X – an EPA & DHA supplement manufactured with build in Absorption Enhancement Matrix (comprising a nonionic surfactant that serves to enhances the supplement’s absorption rate compared to the ‘conventional’ supplements). Though I must share as someone here may benefit from this info 🙂
